my very first batch

of organic butternuts were picked today.

i noticed yesteday one of my largest fruits was ripening and the vine dying, so i thought i would go pick it today. abby came down to the patch with me and so the picking began!

she found 2 quite mature pumpkins that i had never seen before, one that was stuck in the tree and was HUGE!!

so today we picked the 5 ripest pumpkins, leaving 4 on the vines for just a little while longer. now to cure them and cook them up!!

organic gardening rocks my world :D
